Celebrating the Death of Enemies

on some Palestinian refugees' response to terrorist attacks in the U.S.

To watch people celebrating by dancing in the street almost enough provocation to lob a few cruse missles their way.

ya know, i am committed to anti-violence and would not advocate any act of (non-consentual) violence - but if i were a palestinian i might as well be on the street dancing in celebration. their nation is under much more pervasive attack than the current attacks against the united states, and it is the u.s. that is supporting the war against their nation. if you don't understand why some palestinians would celebrate the terrorist attacks, or if you think they must be religious fanatics for celebrating it, you are out of touch. anyone who can't imagine that they too might be celebrating the attacks had they been a palestinian is seriously lacking in their imagination.

i'm willing to bet that given a similar situation, many americans would be dancing in celebration terrorist attacks against their perceived enemy - the sentiment expressed above ("almost enough provocation to lob a few cruise missles") proves that.
